Fundraising Project: Pre-Loved

Fundraising Project: "Pre-Loved" was a series of activities that I organized to raise funds for Chinmaya Mission, a school of Vedantic studies. Our primary goal was to sell gently used Indian clothing and accessories so that someone else could use them. We then utilized the funds from the sale to support the organization. First, I discussed the idea with a panel of people from the organization. Upon approval from the panel, we came up with an idea to create a booth during the Family Fun Day, an annual event that takes place at the mission. I then created a name for the fundraiser “Pre-Loved”. I created a poster to market this and sent it to all family and friends so that we could collect items for sale. Once I collected the clothes, accessories, etc. from several different sources, I carefully inspected their condition as well as other factors. Then, I came up with a pricing strategy based on the condition, popularity, etc. of the items. Finally, we set up a booth at a local Chinmaya Fun Day, in which I marketed the products through large boards, announcements over the bullhorn, etc. I raised a significant amount of money that was donated to Chinmaya Mission. The "Pre-Loved" fundraiser not only helped to raise funds for the cause but also found new homes for the pre-loved items to be re-loved.
